Money In The Bank 2011

Now usually I would write this blog after the last Raw or SmackDown! Before a PPV, unfortunately though I will be away when those shows are on and I won’t be returning till the Saturday.  I will however still keep my streak; I will record both Raw and SmackDown! While I’m away and watch them the day I return, the streak I’m talking about is the fact that I have not missed a Raw or a SmackDown! Since I became a fully-fledged WWE Fan Boy at Wrestlmania XX, that’s 7 and a half years of shows and I have seen each and every one of them!

Ok I’m getting off subject. Money in the Bank is coming up soon, at the moment there are only 4 matches lined up.

WWE Champion John Cena vs. CM Punk

Biggest match of the event will of course be the final match of CM Punk (Supposedly.)
We had a big controversial moment just a couple weeks ago as CM Punk blew the roof with an amazing speech about the way the company is run and his feeling towards it all.
At first we all was unsure on whether or not this was scripted but whatever it was it turned heads, bought online chatter, and Twitter went crazy, the Wrestling World was left in shock. Due to the use of this moment in storyline we think it’s pretty safe to say that it was scripted, but whether or not Vince gave the ok is unknown. The week after the speech saw CM Punk suspended, (This of course was more evidence to this being scripted as the show was actually filmed straight after the last weeks Raw due to an Australian tour.)
On the show John Cena actually was on Punks side, mainly because he wanted the match at Money in the Bank. At the end of the show he confronted Vince McMahon and was able talk Vince into allowing the match to go ahead, he did threaten to leave WWE if Vince didn’t allow it. Due to John Cena’s threat Vince has added the stipulation that if Cena loses he will come to the ring, look him in the eyes and say, “YOU’RE, FIRED!!!”
I think the added stipulation does guarantee John Cena winning the match but it should be good match all the same.

Raw Money in the Bank!

If this year’s Money in the Bank match is anything like last year’s we should be in for a great show!
Raw Superstars in the match are:

Alberto Del Rio
R-Truth
Jack Swagger
The Miz
Evan Bourn
Rey Mysterio
Alex Riley
Kofi Kingston

What I like about this line up is we have some young stars that have never held the WWE Championship or even had a shot, namely A-Ry and Bourn and that’s who I will be supporting throughout even though chances of them winning is a long shot. But if WWE do make either of those two win I will be hitting the ceiling with excitement, as it means something new, different and fresh, which is what WWE need.

SmackDown! Money in the Bank!

SmackDowns! Side also has a great looking group going into the Money in the Bank match:

Justin Gabriel
Sheamus
Heath Slater
Cody Rhodes
Kane
Sin Cara
Daniel Bryan
Wade Barrett

Once again some low stars that could really make something out of this if they won.
My top guy is Daniel Bryan, a low star that has come so far and winning this could push him to even better heights in his career.  I also like Justin Gabriel but I don’t see him or Heath Slater winning this, they are not quite there yet in my opinion.
Sin Cara is good, but he has to have the right opponent to fully show his skill, he should be entertaining but he is not a winner.

Divas Champion Kelly Kelly vs. Brie Bella

I haven’t got anything to say about this match, don’t really follow the Divas storylines as the WWE Divas are no wear near as good as they used to be.
Bring back the days of Trish Startus, Lita, Victoria and more and you will get my attention.
I would use this match as a chance to have toilet break.

Missing matches.

Still no World Title match on the card more will most probably come to surface after tonight’s SmackDown! I predict it to still be Christian vs. Randy Orton.

We may have some small fill in matches bought in on the night of the PPV but the Money in the Bank matches should take up a lot of the event.

Overall I feel this will be a great PPV.

Memory Lane

http://blog.svconline.com/briefingroom/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/wm_03302008ca_244.jpgToday I took a trip down memory lane by watching Wrestlemania 24.  It bought back fond memories and a tear to my Eye, it had some great matches and it was a fully entertaining show. I remember sitting with my friends watching this live, but it is amazing how things change in just a few years, Superstars and Divas that have left or moved on, or even died. How the Show and company has changed so much, and how people change the show they watch.
But these are memories I hold on to and cherish, which is one of the things I love about watching WWE, the memories.

Questions for you.

Who are your picks for Money in the Bank?

Any matches you like to see added?

What PPV’s sit in your memory?

And what is your fondest moment of Wrestlemania 24?
Mines Carlito’s face after Shelton Benjamin was chucked off the ladder onto another ladder outside the ring, as well as Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair.

Well that’s all for now you won’t hear from me till after Money in the Bank, have a good week folks!

Matty.D signing off.
