20 Man Battle Royal.

NXT this week didn’t do much for me I must say.
It only saw two matches and neither made me go oh wow.

Before the matches started Matt Stryker and Ashley Valence introduced the Pros, the rookies and the Nexus.

It then leads into the first match of Mark Henry with rookie Lucky Canon against Miz and rookie Alex Riley.
The match wasn’t that great but there was a moment that Lucky got thrown out the ring and looked to land head first on the steel steps, he didn’t actually land face first but he preformed it so well it looked good enough to make you go “ouch”.
Mark and Lucky got the win.

Then we had the Showtime Percy Watson Show.
He showed that he is still good with a microphone and did a short interview with his pro MVP.
He moved on to apparently trying to make a statement. He was joined by all the NXT season 2 rookies. MVP then was joined by the WWE pros. Before anything can happen Matt Stryker comes out and makes a Battle Royal. It was then that Wade Barrett spoke and put the Nexus in the match as well.
So this led into a very interesting 20 man battle royal.
It started like any Battle Royal all against all except the Nexus slid outside and picked on any one that’s eliminated. First it was Mark Henry eliminated and pounded on then Eli Cottonwood. When MVP was eliminated he put up a fight, he then had the assistance of Kofi and Morrison.
From that point it was all in the ring. One by one the Season 2 rookies was eliminated it came down to the 6 members of the Nexus vs. the 5 pros that was left.
Zack decided to get in the Nexus face when Miz turned on him and eliminated him. Miz then tried to form an alliance but when that failed he jumped the top rope eliminating himself.
Then a brawl started between the Nexus and Kofi and Morrison, Cody Rhodes just floated around the ring. Once Kofi and Morrison were eliminated Cody tried to form an alliance but ended up being beaten on and eliminated. Nexus was then announced the winner even though it was an all against all royal and there should have been one winner.
The Nexus then continued to make a statement by beating on Cody, Kofi and Morrison some more. Matt Stryker then got in the ring and asked the Nexus about the crowd reaction and if they were proud of what they did to John Cena.
Wade spoke about the bigger picture, he then came out with “your either a Nexus or against us.” A great slogan for the team, the show ended there.

Now the down side is all though it was the first signs of war between the pros and the Nexus it didn’t perform well to me. Also there were points when you clearly saw Cody on numerous occasions talking to the ref outside the ring and you also see Justin Gabriel do the same.
To most people would just think it’s just odd, but chances are Cody and Justin was being told about the routine, timing, and/or relaying messages. I think it should have been more discrete.
Also Alex Riley was eliminated due to blood as he was asked to leave the match by a ref due to blood coming from the back of his head or neck and running down his back.

The whole show just didn’t “pop” and nothing really made me get excited. The lowest episode in the NXT season so far in my eyes.

Matty.D singing off.
