I haven’t posted a Blog in about 2 weeks now, and as WWE’s next big PPV, Capitol Punishment, is just round the corner I thought it would be about time I wrote about the recent events in relation to Capitol Punishment this Sunday.
So let’s kick off with…
Randy vs. Christian
Over the last couple of weeks Christian has turned his back on his fans and is focusing solely on beating former friend Randy Orton, and taking the World Championship back at Capitol Punishment.
His last and currently only reign as World Champion lasted only 5 Days in TV land (2 Days in reality,) and being screwed in the #1 Contenders match has lead Christian to the conclusion that we fans are no good and he doesn’t need us no more.
Adding to the mix is Sheamus, who is also yearning for the World Title, constantly staking his claims to the belt.
Sheamus had his chance to get into the World Title match on yesterdays SmackDown! Christian and Sheamus went one on one and if Sheamus won he would be added to the match at Capitol Punishment. Randy Orton, who was sitting at ringside, was not allowed to get involved due to Teddy Long having not yet received Randy’s medical clearance from the apparent concoction Randy has suffered from the recent head shots from the Title belt over the past couple weeks.
Sheamus didn’t win but did receive the ring post to the face followed by a punt from Randy who wanted to make a statement for this Sunday.
Randy and Christian should put on a great match this Sunday, it will have a different flavour to there previous encounters as Christian will most probably use some underhanded tricks to try and get the upper hand, evidence of this was shown during his match this past week.
Even though Christian has turned his back on us in storyline, his character development has kept this peep entertained.
Cena vs. R-Truth
Since the Raw event here in England R-Truth’s character has become a crazy mad man, also turning his back on the WWE universe he is saying he will no longer play to the Little Jimmy’s of the Universe, referring to all the kids that used to look up to him as well as John Cena. He has got in the face of fans, destroyed merchandise stands, insulted kids, and thrown drinks. But all this has done the job, R-Truths moaning whining and complaining has got him the WWE Championship match that his nice guy act never got him before.
This Sunday R-Truth gets his shot, and I’m hoping he wins his first World Title.
Ziggler vs. Kofi
The Intercontinental Championship will be on the line in this bout, will we see Dolph take the title after Vicki wormed him into the picture?
Jackson vs. Barrett
Jackson and Barrett will hit it off yet again this Sunday in hopefully a better match than before. With Jackson’s recent 6-man tag matches his character has had a boost. He has tagged with the rising tag team, The Uso’s (who have really jumped up the scale with there match last night) to take on Wade and the Corre, but during that match Wade walked away causing the loss of his team mates and the end of the Corre. This past Raw and SmackDown! Jackson had an extra boost tagging with fan favourites Sin Cara and Daniel Bryan to take on Wade, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.
So this Sunday Wade will not have any help in his corner from the Corre and it will be a proper one on one contest.
Big Show vs. Del Rio
This story line has had its up’s and downs. When it all started it was with Del Rio “hitting” Big Show with his car, in a terrible act and use of effects. After a short absents from the injury, (that should have kept him out of action for much longer) Show returns for revenge. With his right hand taped up in yellow bandages Show takes on a MMA style ground and Pound to beat on Del Rio’s friend Ricardo on Raw.
Show came to SmackDown! Last night as apparently Del Rio was also there. Teddy foreboded Show from touching Del Rio as Del Rio maybe placing assault charges on Show for the attack on Ricardo. If Show does touch Del Rio he will be fired and so may Teddy Long. Teddy then stuck Show in a match with Mark Henry but before the match even got underway Show took Henry down and used his bandaged fist to do MMA style ground and pound again.
After Henry was wheeled out on a stretcher Del Rio came out and the confrontation came but Del Rio ran when Show went on the attack, Show then destroyed the ring area leaving a mess for the last match.
This match at Capitol Punishment may prove to be interesting.
Alex vs. Miz
This is one match that should push Alex Riley to new heights. His recent turn on his former mentor The Miz has bought a huge fan following and has become an instant favourite.
This fan support should propel him straight into championship ranks after this story with Miz has come to a close.
As he is technically a SmackDown! Superstar as of the Draft, once the story with Miz is over he should start on his on path towards US or Intercontinental Gold, at a stretch possibly even World Title Gold, but I don’t see him jumping that high that fast.
My support is on A-Ry, he has a big future ahead of him and I don’t want WWE to drop the ball again.
Punk vs. Mysterio
Punk has taken his Nexus on a long journey to WWE Tag Gold and the peek of taking out Rey Mysterio as old feuds re surface between these long time rivals that should match up to a great contest.
Questions for you.
What matches are you most looking forward to?
R-Truth, Christian, A-Ry. Who has the biggest future after Sunday?
Predictions?
During the show I will be Tweeting and maybe in a live blog chat, so check around and enjoy the event.
Happy Birthday Tommy!
On a final note it’s my number 1 readers Birthday today, so a big Happy Birthday to my main man Tommy Clee! Hope you have a good one.
Matty.D signing off.
