Randy's Headache

Last night’s SmackDown! may have given Randy a splitting headache, as a friend becomes an enemy, and he may now have “World Heavyweight Champion” imprinted on his forehead after a whack from the World Title Belt.

The night started with Christian vs. Mark Henry in a substantial match which Christian was the victor. Christian then moved on to say how he should obviously be the No.1 Contender to the World Title with a VT of how he was “screwed” the week before. Teddy came to answer Christian’s demands but didn’t put Christian into the World Title match, well at least not as a contender. Teddy decided to put Christian in the middle of Randy and Sheamus, making him the Special Referee.

Jump to the end of the show for an exquisite World Title match between Randy and Sheamus. Christian wasn’t a factor as he played the match like any normal referee. That is until Christian received a shoulder barge from Sheamus. Sheamus did attempt to apologise before Booting Randy and covering him for the Pin. Sheamus would have won then and there if it wasn’t for Christians hurt shoulder preventing his hand hitting the mat for the 3 count. Sheamus unhappy with the outcome starts a shouting war with Christian and receives a slap and an RKO for his troubles. Christian counts the 1-2-3 and raises Randy’s hand as the victor.

During Randy’s celebration Christian eyed the World Title in his hands before turning and hitting Randy across the forehead with the Belt. And this wasn’t one of those, “hand in the way” type hits, or a little tap. This was a full blown whack across the head that left you saying, “Ouch!”

This signals Christians Heel turn, he stands over Randy shouting that he can beat him then posing with the belt.

At this point you would expect Christian to lay the belt on or by Randy, but instead he walks away with it, leaving the arena with the belt he once held.

An interesting turn in this Storyline, I feel they have switched it up just at the right moment as the story was starting become repetitive and samey. The Heel switch will make Randy and Christian’s next match more interesting as Christians need to beat Randy and take the World Title might lead to some underhanded tricks in there next face off which will most probably be at WWE’s Newest PPV, Capitol Punishment.

Capitol Punishment is taking the place of Fatal 4 Way, (unfortunate as I really enjoyed F4W last year.) The only other match announced at the moment is R-Truth vs. John Cena for the WWE Title, bout time to and my support goes to Truth.
