Well Theodore Long is back in charge of SmackDown! And it was a pretty cracking show.
To start the show we had Teddy and Vickie in there office talking to us. They spoke about the up coming event, Money In The Bank, and about Rey Mysterio and his title defence at MITB. Teddy then spoke on how he is back in charge of SmackDown! Due to Vince being out of action.
Drew then appeared to try and intimidate Teddy but to no avail; it was then when Teddy told Drew that he is reinstating Matt Hardy and that Drew will be facing him that night.
Later in the night we saw Drew vs. Matt in a brilliant match, in fact it was Matt’s best match in months.
The match went on for a substantial amount of time and I loved it. The best moment of the match was when Drew was about to stomp Matt’s head into the steal steps when Matt sprang to life scooping Drew’s leg causing him to land back first on the steps with a nice bang.
Once back in the ring after a few more moves Matt was able to get the Twist of Fate in and win the match.
Once all over Teddy appeared on the big screen to let Drew know his visa has run out and that he is to be deported back to Scotland. Drew then went into panic as security came down to remove him.
Best match of the night by far.
Other moments saw Jack Swagger go up against the Big Show, Jack said he was going to make Show suffer like he suffered on Sunday.
Not the greatest match in the world, Show was in control for most of it, Jack turns it around in the end reversing the Big Shows choke slam into an ankle lock in a lame attempt to be like Kurt Angle. Big Show did get to the ropes but Jack did not let up and held the hold even after the DQ and the bell rang, he kept hold causing show to thrive in pain.
Once Jack had let go Big Show laid in the ring hurting as Jack looks back on his work, Big Show attempts to stand but does not succeed. Big Shows acting at this point was pretty lame and very unbelievable.
Cody Rhodes also cut a great promo about being the most handsome man in WWE as voted by the fans. Cody Rhodes showed great skills on the microphone showing he is a well rounded superstar, I see great things in his future.
Kofi Kingston teamed up with MVP and Christian to take on Vance Archer and Kurt Hawking teamed with Dolph Ziggler. Pretty good contest MVP, Kofi and Christian took the win. This was possibly sowing some seeds for a Dolph, Kofi storyline with the title in the middle.
Kelly Kelly defeated Rosa Mendes in a very, very short match.
Last match was CM Punk vs. Kane in a No DQ match.
This match was more of a beating as Kane just wanted to hurt Punk, luckily Punk had the S.E.S to prevent that as Gallows and the Masked Man, (who has now got ring attire) helped Punk live another day. After a few minutes of fighting Kane Choke Slammed Gallows though the announcers table as Punk headed out the through the crowd. Kane took pursuit and so did the camera men as we watched them head into the lobby of the arena. They fought there for a little while, Kane chucking Punk around until Punk fell through some doors to the outside, when he got back on his feet he started run away into the night. Kane just watched as Punk ran and the show closed.
In other news we have matches announced for Money In the Bank so far are the World Title Match between Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger and a SmackDown! MINTB match with 8 superstars to still be decided.
Since there is a SmackDown! MINTB match I’m cure there will be a Raw one.
Other matched we may see made are Kofi vs. Dolph for the Intercontinental Championship, and Kelly Kelly and Tiffany against LayCool for the co Women’s Championship.
Also advertisements say that Money In the Bank will be on SkySports1 and 1HD which shocked me after Vince said about raising prices of PPV’s. That is 3 out of 4 PPV of this season to be on SkySports and not on BoxOffice.
That’s all for now Matty.D signing off.
