I will try and keep this one brief.
Start off last nights NXT saw the big Brit Wade Barret win as the new WWE break out star. So we will be seeing him go after a Championship, at a PPV in the near future, word has it that he could tag with his Pro Chris Jericho, and head for the Unified Tag Titles, the other options that are of suspicion to happen is, Wade could go for the US Champion, R-Truth or Kofi the Intercontinental Champion, but only time will tell.
Justin Gabriel may be still getting a spot on the main Roster, possibly tagging with his Pro Matt Hardy, or some other superstar that can work well on the microphone as that is the area that Gabriel lacks in, with a different superstar who is good on the mic, Gabriel can take the chance to learn from them and improve on his promo work.
NXT season 2 has been announced and here is the line up of pro/rookie partnerships.
NXT Rookie - WWE Pro
Husky Harris - Cody Rhodes
Eli Cottonwood - John Morrison
Percy Watson - MVP
Titus O’Neil - Zach Ryder
Kaval - LayCool
Lucky Cannon - Mark Henry
Mike McGillicutty - Kofi Kingston
Alex Riley - The Miz
Now most of these people will go over your head, but there are some big names here.
Mike McGillicutty, is actually Joe Henning, son of Mr. Perfect, so he is a 3rd Generation star.
Husky Harris is a 3rd Gen star, son of Mike Rotunda, aka I.R.S, and he is of cores being mentored, by 2nd Gen star, Cody Rhodes.
And Kaval, better known as Low Ki, is a former TNA star, I would say he has the most potential of winning this if he hadn’t been given two Divas as his Pros, yes they are the best Divas at the current time in WWE, but they are not good enough to be the Mentors to someone like Kaval. If this show was on during the Attitude Era it would have been interesting, we could of seen Kaval being mentored by someone like Trish Startus, Lita or Chyna, but with today’s divas this is a bad choice by WWE, but I could be proved wrong, LayCools promo work is absolutely brilliant so maybe we will see it rub off on Kaval.
My favourites from what I have seen at the moment are, Alex Riley, Kaval, and Titus O’Neil, I am judging that on the Rookies not the Pros.
The biggest plus side to NXT season 2 will be the fact that we will have control over who goes through, the Pros will still make the picks but that will only be 50% of the vote, the other 50% will be the viewers watching at home.
NXT season 2 starts next week so make sure to tune in as I see it being a very interesting show.
SmackDown! Tonight will see Kofi defend his Title against Drew McIntyre, we should also some more development on the World Title Storyline.
SmackDown! Will be on at 10 on SkySports3 and SkySports3HD.
Blog will be some time tomorrow.
Matty.D signing off.
