I know I may have scared some of you last night, (epically TJ, sorry bro) when I put a facebook status plainly saying, “The end of Undertaker???”
Now I do not think there is any need to panic as it should be all storyline, but let me fill you in.
Basically when SmackDown! Started we saw Teddy Long saying that Undertaker was found in a vegetated state over the memorial weekend, it was said that he was attacked in some way.
Now not to worry this is not true, if it was there would be a bigger effect over the WWE universe, and it would have been bigger news over the last week. Undertaker is just injured. During his match the week before with Rey Mysterio, Undertaker suffered a concussion, a broken orbital bone and a broken nose.
So all the following should just be storyline.
We see the hooded men of the Ministry of Darkness, come down to the ring with a coffin to the sound of there demonic music. Once at the ring Fire exploded and Kane came down to the ring for a brilliant promo.
He stood in the ring and spoke about how he had found Taker, and that Taker will not be back, in Kane’s words, “my brother will rise from the dead no more.” This all seems to be a bit much but it’s a good way of pushing Kane’s character.
Kane vows to find the one that had done this to Undertaker, and get revenge, he then proceeds to perform very well acting emotional and sad.
Through out the night Kane threatens many people on the Roster, from CM Punk to Rey Mysterio and Big Show as well as others.
Teddy Long creates a Battle Royal at the end of the night to decide who will replace the Undertaker in the Fatal 4 Way match at F4W. Now all signs point towards the winner being Kane, and through out the Royal, Kane was eliminating the most people. It in the end came down to Rey and Kane, they rallied back and forth for a while, having some close calls, but in the end Rey was able to pull Kane over the top rope.
I am disappointed by this as I really wanted Kane to get in and to put him as a World Title contender.
I do not know weather or not they will continue the storyline or cut it short, but I am thinking that Kane will get involved in the World Title match at F4W.
The rest of SmackDown! Was like it usually is. After Kane’s opening promo Swagger came to the ring sporting a Sooners jersey, the reason for that is due to the Sooners being rivals to the location they was in. Swagger went up against MVP in a pretty solid bout.
Swagger won the match, during the after math, the team of Kurt Hawkins and Vance Archer came out to beat on the fallen MVP in another attempt to make an impact.
We had Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship, another great bout; during the match we had Matt Hardy appear in the crowd, although he is suspended there was nothing wrong with him buying a ticket, and sitting in the front row. He just sat and watched until the closing moments of the match, where he attempted to jump the barrier to get involved in the match after Drew attempted to hit him, but was stopped by security, but it was enough to distract Drew costing him the match. Once it was over it looked like Matt was going to walk away so the security let him be, but Matt ran past them, over the barrier, and into the ring, to nail Drew with a Twist of Fate before running away through the crowd, security hot on his tail.
We saw an Ok Divas match between the improving, Kelly Kelly, and the lame Rosa Mendes. Kelly showed improvement in this match and she looks to be the next Diva to go for the Women’s Title, although I see her needing a partner as she will most probably have to face both members of LayCool.
The match went on longer than usual WWE Divas matches, at the end of it Kelly took the win with her finisher, which was performed a lot better than pervious times.
LayCool watched the match form the top of the ramp. I am enjoying this story I am wondering what will be next for the WWE Divas.
Overall a good show and the Undertaker situation has put a spanner in the works and has made the story more interesting I just hope WWE work well with it.
That’s all from me Matty.D signing off.
