Last nights Raw had the guest host of Ashton Kutcher although it seems he was never actually at the arena for the show. All his segments were shown on the titiantron, and he never made an appearance in front of the crowd. It is believed that all his segments were recorded over the weekend in LA.
When Raw got started a fight was already going between Evan Bourn and Edge. Apparently before Raw came on the air, Edge came out and said that Raw hasn’t started but he was going to stand in the ring and say what he wanted, and nobody could stop him. This was when Evan Bourn came out in attempt to make a name for himself, and to challenge Edge for his spot at Fatal 4 Way, and that is when the fight ensued and it all came on the air.
The little bout went on for a while, Evan got control of the fight but Edge rolled out the way of the Shooting Star press and took Evan out with a great looking spear.
Edge then talks about F4W when Randy Orton made his way down.
Randy locks sights on Edge and he never moves his gaze. In the end to shut Edges rambling Randy nails an RKO.
At this point you would think the Viper is fit to fight but that is not the case.
After the opening segment it was reviled that Randy would tag with John Cena to take on Edge and Sheamus.
Later in the night Edge slams a door into Randy’s injured arm to take him out of the match leaving John to get a replacement.
The reason for Randy being taken out is due to him still being too injured to wrestle, so we shouldn’t see him do much on the lead up to F4W. Also he is apparently going to be having surgery on the injured arm, as his shoulder is a reoccurring problem.
Due to Randy being out of action we saw Evan Bourn take his place in the tag match to help push his character, and I must say it’s about damn time. He is, in my eyes, the best high flyer WWE has at this present time, and he needs to be pushed up the ladder, and what better way of doing it than tagging him with the #1 fan favourite, and WWE champ, John Cena.
The match itself was very well preformed, but unfortunately Evan was just used as a beat up character for most of the match, but when he was in control, he was on fire and when he was being beaten on he made every move he received look good.
The match came to a close when Cena got tagged in. He laid a twisting Attitude Adjustment on Sheamus to line him up for Evan, and the twist just made the AA look that little bit better. Evan was then tagged in and he flew off the top rope to land an amazing looking Shooting Star Press. The crowd ate this match up and it was a classic.
I see Evan hopefully riding up the ranks in the locker room and we should soon him with a belt around his waist.
Another hope is if Randy can not take part at F4W, Evan will be the replacement. We could see history made if Evan can win, and take his first WWE Title.
Also on Raw we saw R-Truth take on Jericho in a sloppy non title match, Santino and Eve tag to face William Regal and Maryse in a mediocre battle which saw Kozlov turn on his former partner William , we then had Bret come down to announce that next weeks Raw will be a 3 hour special with SmackDown! And Raw stars and that it will be a viewers choice night, he was soon joined by Mr. McMahon who just came down to congratulate Brett on becoming the new GM of Raw.
We then headed into the Miz taking on Daniel Bryan who thanks to Ashton Kutcher (storyline) was put into a one night contract.
The match was impressive, and threw out the match Cole was insulting Bryan.
The match came to a close when Bryan was able to put Miz in a painful submission hold, which was then reversed into a pin by Miz, which was revered yet again by Bryan to pin Miz, and win the match.
After the match Miz beat on Bryan. Outside the ring Miz tried to make Bryan apologise to Cole, but instead we saw Bryan throw Miz into Cole.
It should be interesting to see where this storyline is going to go.
We then had the latest tag team the Uso’s in the ring talking about how they were making a name for them selves.
The crowd didn’t think much of this and I felt uncomfortable watching this promo as they just didn’t feel right behind a microphone.
After there Promo the Heart Dynasty come flying down the ramp to get pay back against the newbie’s. At first the Hearts had control but the Uso’s soon got back into control. There was one move that I liked which was a toss up by one man caught into a Samoan drop by the other. They all then climbed to the top ropes to do there 3 body presses but this didn’t look as impressive as before, as one member of the group looked to of just fell onto David Heart before the others had even jumped.
I defiantly think this group needs a lot of work.
Before the big tag match we had Alicia Fox betray Zack Ryder for the recoding of Ashton Kutcher.
That’s all for Raw just a quick look into what else has been going on.
Apparently Undertaker is 50/50 for Fatal 4 Way, as he is suffering an injury. Talks are that Kane may take Takers spot in the match at F4W, if it’s not Rey Mysterio.
I personally would want Kane entered into this match and to even win, as he hasn’t been in a world title position since he removed his mask, the closest he got was the ECW title. Either way it looks like neither F4W matches for the World Title, and WWE Title will stay the same, unless these injuries from Randy and Taker are overcame.
Also According to Kevin Pike, Batista has set his sights on the UFC, if this is so I wish him good luck in this endeavour.
Well that all from me Matty.D signing off.
