NXT Season 2 Begins

Well what can I say? I thought it was a great start to the new season with a great ending.

We saw all the rookies get introduced by there pros before we went into some matches for the night.
We saw Morrison Tag with Rookie, Eli, to go up against Zack Ryder, and his Rookie, Titus. Morrison and Eli picked up the win after a pretty good match.
We had MVP and Rookie Percy, against Cody Rhodes and his Rookie, Husky. MVP and Percy picked up the win in another good match.

Later in the night we looked back at the slaughter that occurred on Raw by the NXT Season 1 rookies.
When we at home and the people in the arena watched this, the Rookies and Pros were in the ring. Pros on one side and Rookies on the other. After the look back, Matt Stryker asked the rookies there thoughts. After that the Rookies was welcomed into the new season by all the Pros beating on them, making a statement to the old rookies, and the new.

This was a great way to kick things off for the new season and a good way of progressing the story.
While on the subject of the Rookie story, apparently the story spilled into FCW, WWE’s development programme.

Here is the article from Wrestling Edge on the FCW show.
The NXT invasion storyline continued at last night’s WWE developmental show in Florida. The main event was scheduled to be The Miz and Daniel Bryan vs. Christian and Heath Slater but that didn’t happen. The Miz’s music played before the match but nobody came out. Christian came out next and talked about what happened on RAW, then called out Heath Slater. Slater talked about how everything was good to start off on NXT but then Christian wouldn’t give him the answers so they lost the competition.
Daniel Bryan then ran out and attacked Christian from behind. The Miz came down next and fought off the Rookies with Christian. Miz proposes that they do a Pros vs. Rookies match. Miz cut a babyface promo with Christian and worked the match as a face.
The ending came when Miz and Christian were about to hit their finishers on the Rookies. All of the Season 1 Rookies rushed the ring and beat down Miz and Christian. The Rookies tore down the FCW ring before Bryan kicked Miz in the head and Slater hit the Killswitch on Christian. The Rookies left with the Pros laid out.

So that is straight from Wrestling Edge. Apparently WWE my keep doing more storylines like this, which are not to WWE norm and also being more realistic, so watch this space me thinks.
Back to last nights NXT. Other than the storyline development there was a look at the new Rookies.
Now we saw some good stuff from the two Rookies that got in the ring, and in my eyes the one that stood out was Husky Harris. I was very impressed by him, and I like the fact he is not a muscle man, he looks like just some fat guy, but then he gets in that ring and he is wrestler and a good one at that.
Percy got beat on but did show skill, I loved his DDT finisher but not to sure about his style.
Eli showed promise as someone who may literally walk over everyone, and Titus did a good job also.

Another person that is standing out to me is the Miz’s Rookie, Alex Riley. Something about him really stands out, I find him quite funny, I like his better than everyone attitude, and his personality in general, I just hope his in ring skill is as good as everything else. Oh and he said he is allergic to Matt Stryker which I thought was brilliant.

On other new Evan Bourn should be getting a big push into a main eventer. This is in an attempt to show that smaller guys can main event, but we all ready know this, it’s the WWE that need the convincing. Let’s hope that WWE will stay committed to this choice.
WWE will apparently push the younger and new stars as they have come to the realisation that there big named superstars, such as Edge, Triple H, Undertaker and more will not be around forever.

Well I believe that is all for now Matty.D signing off.
